Up for the award in the Best Chef: South category, which recognizes chefs from Arkansas to Puerto Rico, is Chef Sean “Sonny” Nguyen, who established this restaurant back in 2016 in the Audubon Park district. Nearly 10 years later, the restaurant known for house-made noodles, out-of-the-box small plates, and seasonal cocktails has expanded to three locations across Orlando and Jacksonville.

Chef Lordfer “Lo” Lalicon opened this Filipino casual fine dining restaurant in the Mills 50 district in 2022. Since then, the restaurant has earned a spot in the MICHELIN Guide, and now, Chef Lalicon is also up for the Best Chef: South category.

This Winter Park tasting counter concept inspired by Japanese cuisine earned a semifinalist spot in the Best New Restaurant category. Guests can make reservations for one of two dining experiences: The Journey or The Jaunt. Pro tip: Level things up by adding on the Beverage Experience, which offers wine or non-alcoholic pairings to your selected menu items.

If you can’t be stopped at just one award-worthy restaurant, you’re in luck. Sue and Jason Chin are up for the Outstanding Restaurateur award together for their work with local spots Seito Sushi, Reyes Mezcaleria, The Osprey, The Monroe, and Sparrow. Restaurant crawl, anyone?
