Technically, summer doesn’t end until Monday, Sept. 22 (at least, that’s the September equinox), so you might have time to plan one last trip before fall weather arrives.

Orlando International Airport offers 170+ non-stop flights, including these newer destinations you can visit directly from MCO:
  • Oktoberfest on your mind? Discover Airlines started offering flights to Munich in March.
  • Switch coasts by flying to LAX via Frontier Airlines, one of four new routes introduced this spring.
  • Bon voyage — Air France introduced service to Paris-Charles de Gaulle in May.

News Notes

Parks

Changes are in line at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure. The theme park filed permits with the City of Orlando to allow demolition on 4.9 acres that used to house The Lost Continent attraction. No timeline has been announced, nor has a replacement attraction. (Orlando Business Journal)

Holiday

Leu Gardens is getting ready to deck the trees for Dazzling Nights. The glowing holiday event will return from Friday, Nov. 28 through Sunday, Jan. 4 and wrap the space with multiple light displays while sprinkling new experiences throughout. Ticket sales begin Monday, Sept. 29.

Mansion Monday

This five-bedroom home is fit for a celebrity — and that’s because it used to be owned by a famous singer. The property is filled with luxury amenities, including a theater room, private dock, personal basketball + tennis courts, and a helicopter pad.

Travel

Frontier Airlines is bringing back its all-you-can-fly pass once again this year, allowing customers unlimited domestic and international flights for a steep discount. Before you pack your bags, map out your flight plan with all you need to know about Orlando International Airport.

Outdoors

~40 minutes. That’s how much sunlight will be lost in Orlando over the course of September as days get progressively shorter. If you’re dreading the darkness, you still have time to make the most of bright evenings at a local park.

Eat

Move over, Thin Mints, we’re saving our money for boxes of Exploremores — Girl Scouts of the USA’s newest cookie. The rocky road ice cream-inspired sandwich cookie will debut in 2026. Sign up to be the first to know when they hit the market in the City Beautiful.

Watch

The destination is set for “The White Lotus” Season 4, and it’s looking very French. Filming hasn’t started yet, so there’s plenty of time to enroll in a crash course of the language — or, you could start planning your watch party meals with Tous Les Jours. (Deadline)
There she is. Miss New York, Cassie Donegan, was crowned Miss America 2026 on Sunday, Sept. 7. Donegan earned more than $50,000 in scholarships, and is the eighth Miss New York to win Miss America. In case you were wondering, Miss Florida last won in 2004. (People)

The Wrap

I admit, I love shopping at Trader Joe’s, especially during this time of year. I’ve tried the Pumpkin Tortilla Chips, which was an unusual combo, but unexpectedly delicious. I recommend trying them if you see them while browsing the Sand Lake Road store.
