Orange County officials have approved plans to build a revolutionary $49 million animal shelter. Once complete, it will be the largest in the state, sitting at 123,000+ sqft — that’s almost five times larger than the previous shelter. Construction starts in December. (Orlando Business Journal)

Disney World is raising prices for its annual passes effective immediately. The lowest pass for the year is now $489 at the Pixie Pass level — an increase of 4.3%. At the top level, the Incredi-Pass was raised 5.2% and costs $1,629. (Orlando Sentinel)

Southwest Airlines is expanding its offerings from Orlando International Airport. Starting next summer, the airline will have 63 total routes from MCO, with increased services to several popular destinations including Austin, Las Vegas, Nashville, and Puerto Rico. (FTN News)
