More than a foot of rain fell in Lake County last weekend, causing damage to several roads in the area. Wolf Branch Road was one of those impacted — the same road that collapsed because of Hurricane Milton damage last year. Ground also washed away close to some homes. (WKMG + WESH)
Development
The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is building a new facility in Winter Park. Officials recently approved plans for the 27,000-sqft office building, set for vacant land at 1428 Gay Rd. Construction starts early next year, but a full timeline has not been announced. (Orlando Business Journal)

Local professor, author, historian, and journalist Jim Clark has died after a distinguished career serving Central Florida. Real Estate
A unique property has hit Orlando’s real estate market for an undisclosed asking price. The Veranda at Thornton Park is just east of Lake Eola, and boasts a family home, a huge event space with a courtyard, and multiple office + retail spaces. It last sold for $2.75 million in 20222. History
This week marks 40 years since the fictional plot began in the “Back to the Future” trilogy. Great Scott. We still don’t have flying cars, levitating skateboards, or self-drying jackets, but we can always look at a bygone era at one of Orlando’s most nostalgic activities.
