Let’s float an idea
What are you thankful for? | Photo by ORLtoday
A French bulldog float will make its way through New York City during this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. That got us thinking: What are the most Orlando-inspired animal floats that could feature in the festivities?
Editor Patrick here: I’d love to see inflatable versions of my dogs (pictured above) flying through Manhattan.
It wouldn’t be Florida without a gator — like a huge version of this.
And of course, a chuckling inflatable mouse is a must.
Did we miss any? Let us know (or send us festive photos of your pets, please).
Did you know there are ~25,000 castles in Germany? National Geographic rounded up their top 10, featuring hilltop views, medieval vibes, and stunning historical charm. Looking for a castle of your own? This lakefront palace near Disney just hit the market.
Eat
Taco Bell is selling a Baja Blast-flavored pie this Thanksgiving. The drink’s signature tropical lime flavor has been turned into a filling on a graham cracker crust, topped with whipped cream. To each their own, but we prefer picking up seasonal desserts from Orlando’s small businesses like Sister Honey’s Bakery. (People)
Travel
White-sand beaches, volcanic backdrops, tropical wildlife, and mind-blowing cuisine. That’s what awaits at Travel and Leisure’s No. 1 trending travel destination for 2026 — Limon, Costa Rica. Whether you choose the Central American paradise, or somewhere else entirely, Orlando International Airport is the place to start your adventure.
Fun Fact
What’s the opposite of a short king? Meet Oliver Rioux, the 7-ft, 9-inch teenager who recently became the tallest-ever college basketball player when he made his debut for the University of Florida. In Rioux’s honor, we recommend grabbing a tall latte from one of Orlando’s superb coffee shops. (The Guardian)
State
House Beautiful just named the most famous building in each US state, and The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg took the title for Florida. That’s nothing compared to the I-4 Eyesore.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. No, not that one.
The conservation experts at Save the Manatee Club say sea cow season has officially returned to Blue Springs State Park. The friendly giants are back for the winter to spend their days lounging in warm spring waters. They’re sort of like snowbirds, just with less traffic on I-4.
A really good heating pad to get you through the winter season. The Buy Editor Sarah recently tested one from Pure Enrichment’s selection — its plush cover is ultra soft, it heats up quickly, and it features an automatic shut-off feature. Pro tip: Heat the pad up under your bed covers before you climb in on cold winter nights.
Bonus: Use code HSN2025 to save $10 off $20 through November.
