Which cities share Orlando’s latitude and longitude?

Directly north, east, south, and west of O-Town, cities across the world await.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you walked in a straight line around the world from Orlando? Wonder no longer, wanderer.

Let us introduce you to LatLon Connect, an online tool that allows users to explore cities across the world that share the same latitude and longitude.

Here’s how it works

  • Head to the site and type in any city you like.
  • Follow the blue lines in any direction to see which other cities are highlighted. Those are the ones directly in line with your original destination.
  • Bonus: The settings button at the top of the screen allows users to tweak the results, meaning you can look for cities with smaller or greater populations, and you can expand the buffer distance — altering the number of cities that will show up.
An orange palace in India. The India flag flies between two round towers of colonial design typical of the British empire. Green grass sits in front, with a hazy purple-ish sky above. The sun is shining on the building, casting deep orange shadows on its walls.

Here’s what we found

In our search, we stuck with the default settings, looking for places with 100,000+ people with a buffer zone of 6.21 miles (that’s 10 kilometers).

Over a dozen results popped up in our search, including the world’s second-most populated metropolitan area: Delhi. The Indian region contains over 30 million people, and includes the country’s capital city, New Delhi. Pictured above is the famous Red Fort (Lal Qila) Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site steeped in history.

See that flag above the fort the middle? On Aug. 15, 1947, the national flag was raised above the structure for the first time — marking the dawn of India’s impending independence from the British. That tradition continues today, with the flag raised above the fort on the same day every year.

We won’t spoil which other cities we found. Explore for yourself.

And for more info on Orlando’s international connections, we also rounded up O-Towns eight sister cities.
