Tiger Woods’ mini golf concept PopStroke is set to open in Orlando later than originally planned, in the fall of 2026. The new timeline comes after PopStroke filed a construction permit request. The organization’s Horizon West location is still set to open in August as planned. (Orlando Business Journal)

Coming Soon

A new hi-fi listening coffee bar and flower shop is headed to College Park. Sonic Bloom Room, set to open in late fall next to Flow Haus Yoga, will feature flowers and coffee in a cozy, vibey spot playing warm analog sound. (Bungalower)

Community

This year, Orlando is celebrating its 150th anniversary — and the city wants your stories for its history board. Share your memories, photographs, newspaper clippings, and anything else that helps tell the story of Orlando’s past.

Sports

Desmond Bane will make his home debut with the Orlando Magic on Sunday, Oct. 12 during a preseason matchup against the Miami Heat. Grab tickets. (Bungalower)

Closed

Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy! restaurant in Winter Park has closed, citing a “focus on regional growth and national expansion.” The chain is set to open another location in an Ocala Walmart, adding to its three other Florida locations. (Orlando Weekly)

Weather

We don’t mean to nag, but are you ready for a hurricane? Walmart isn’t fun in the days leading up to a storm. Check Orange County’s hurricane safety guide so you can feel prepared + don’t have to argue with a stranger over a gallon jug of water.

Today, the popular Hulu TV show “The Bear” returns for Season 4.

We got to thinking… if chefs from “The Bear” lived in Orlando, where would they work? Here’s what we came up with.

Chef Carmen (aka Carmy) | Domu
Carmie’s fine-dining experience and ability to push the envelope immediately made us think of Domu. He and Sean “Sonny” Nguyen could collab on some fabulous dishes.

Chef Sydney | Sorekara
Chef Sidney is an innovator, and we think she would love the challenge of Sorekara’s constantly-changing tasting menu inspired by the 72 micro seasons of Japan.
More this way? Yes, Chef.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Brianna

Any fellow horror buffs out there? Universal announced its plans for 2025 Halloween Horror Nights, set to begin on Friday, Aug. 29. This year’s event will feature a new haunted house called “Jason Universe,” an homage to the “Friday the 13th” franchise. Pro tip: If you go to Diagon Alley during HHN (where this photo was taken), you’ll see Death Eaters roaming the streets.
