Tinder leaving you terrified? Hinge have you heartbroken? Bumble got you down bad?

There’s a new dating app entering the pool, and it’s perfect for park-loving locals: Single Riders. According to one of the developers, Single Riders will allow folks looking for love (or just a friend) to connect over a shared love of theme parks.

Beta testing is set to begin later this year, and you can let the team know if you’re interested in helping out. Who knows, this could be the start of your very own fairytale.

Make home improvements? Book a trip? Start saving?

If you’re a homeowner, you likely already know that your home has equity you can tap into. HELOCs might come to mind — but they’re not the only option.

Enter: Equity Sharing Home Loans. This flexible alternative allows borrowers to access their home’s equity at a below-market interest rate (read: lower monthly payments than a traditional loan).

Interested? See how much you could be eligible for — and how low your payment could be.
How low, though?

News Notes

Open

Florida may be relatively flat, but the state’s largest climbing gym just brought a few peaks to Orlando. High Point Climbing and Fitness, a 45,000-sqft indoor climbing gym, is now open in the Packing District. (Orlando Business Journal)

Biz

What else is popping in the Packing District? Businesses like restaurant Blue Coast Burrito, contrast therapy studio SWTHZ, and cafe Grain & Berry are making progress. Grain & Berry (the only one with a planned opening date currently) is set to open in late August. (Bungalower)

Mansion Monday

Once you find the love of your life at Disney, complete the fairytale by moving into this 4,680-sqft castle. You won’t even have to redecorate — take a spin through the photos to spot the fireplace with a coat of arms + poolside dragon statues.

Coming Soon

Oregon-based coffee shop The Human Bean is headed to Central Florida. The drive-thru spot is set to open in Winter Springs this fall with hot, cold, and frozen coffee and espresso drinks. (Orlando Business Journal)

Travel

We’re skipping the customs line this summer — Florida has its own European vibes just waiting for us. Take a ~1.5-hour drive to visit St. Augustine for the charm of coastal Spain, or a ~2.5 hour drive to Tarpon Springs — a destination with influences from the largest population of Greek-Americans in the US. (USA Today)

Ranked

Orlando ranked No. 8 on Wallet Hub’s “Best & Worst Cities for First-Time Home Buyers” list, based on factors like active home listings + real estate agents per capita.

Home

Have a project you’ve been itching to work on? Think: bathroom renovation, upgrading your HVAC system, or maybe a backyard makeover. Wondering how to pay for it? Hint: A HELOC isn’t the only way to access your home’s equity. Enter: Unison.*

Happy National Junk Food Day

ORLtoday: ORL_Charlie's Bakery and Creamery key lime pie
Like your pie more on the frozen side? Charlie’s also offers a dairy-free key lime ice cream pie. | Photo by @charliesbakeryandcreamery
If you ask us, there’s nothing junky about our favorite Florida delicacy — but that doesn’t mean we won’t use the unofficial holiday as an excuse to grab a slice. Check out these local spots that pass the key lime pie taste test.

Comfort classics

Sister Honey’s Bakery, 247 E. Michigan St.
As a James Beard nominee and the first-ever three-time World Food Championships winner, Evette Rahman didn’t come to play when she opened Sister Honey’s.

All in the family recipe

Lombardi’s Seafood, 1888 W. Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park
You may not expect the home of “Florida’s Best Seafood” to carry a stellar key lime pie — but we’re happy to announce that it does, and it’s homemade every day, according to an over 60-year-old Lombardi family recipe.

Smaller servings

Charlie’s Bakery & Creamery, 3213 Curry Ford Rd.
This central Florida staple has been baking its famous key lime pie since 1971. Order an individual key lime pie cup for a sweet treat you don’t have to share.
