Let’s do Halloween, Orlando style

An up-close shot of a gator in the water. It's facing us.

How do I dress up like a gator? | Photo by City of Orlando

Halloween is a week away, which means you’ve got seven days to figure out a costume for this year’s ghoulish festivities.

Here are a few ideas for keeping your fit locally inspired:
  • The Zombie Tourist | A Hawaiian shirt, a camera strapped around the neck, sunglasses from the 1990s, and a pair of cargo shorts. Throw on some fake blood, and you’re good to go.
  • Inflation Experts | Grab an inflatable costume to get some laughs. Rep our Floridian animal friends by donning this gator costume or this flamingo one.
  • Key Lime Pie | Green clothes and white hair spray. It’s as simple as that. You can even treat yourself to a slice after.

Announced

This weekend’s Orlando Air Show has been canceled, with officials citing the ongoing government shutdown in Washington DC as the reason. “As America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday in 2026, we’re already looking ahead to what’s next, with exciting plans on the horizon,” they added.
